Spiritual Life

“For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.”
St. Therese of Lisieux

Group Activities/Retreats
There are many opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to nourish their life with Christ through CMA:

  • Weekly discussion and prayer groups
  • Bible studies
  • Formation talks called Dollar Dinners

All of these enable members of the Marymount community to engage in a regular spiritual life.

Twice each year, a student-led retreat to either the beach or the mountains allows participants to refresh their relationship with God. Each summer, there is a pilgrimage to a holy place – such as Lourdes in France, the Holy Land, or World Youth Day – to celebrate faith and walk in the footsteps of the saints.

Interfaith Prayer Services
Each spring, Campus Ministry joins with the Philosophy/Theology and Religious Studies Department, the International Student Services Office, and other student organizations to gather in prayer and dialogue to discuss important interfaith issues such as world peace, religious tolerance, and cultural roles in various faiths.
