Students transferring to Marymount University are eligible for a number of grants, scholarships, and other forms of financial aid.
Unless otherwise noted, these scholarships are all for students pursuing their first bachelor's degrees.
Merit-Based Scholarships and Grants
Transfer Academic ScholarshipThis renewable
$2,000 to $7,000 scholarship is available for full-time, first-degree transfer students with 30 or more college credits and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. This scholarship is renewable, provided the student remains in good academic standing.

Transfer S-STEM Scholarship (available fall 2012 only)
This competitive scholarship provides transfer students entering with sophomore or junior standing majoring in Biology, Biology with Secondary Education teaching licensure, Information Technology (Computer Science track), Mathematics, or Mathematics with Secondary Education teaching licensure up to $10,000 toward tuition and is renewable. Applicants should be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with strong academic performance who have an interest in a career in teaching or research in mathematics or the sciences. Applicants must also demonstrate some level of need. Priority consideration will be given to scholarship applications received by May 4. Late applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.
Phi Theta Kappa ScholarshipThis renewable scholarship for
up to $6,000 is available to first-degree transfer students who have been active members in their former institution’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Applicants should be enrolled full time and have at least a 3.5 GPA and 30 college credits.

Spirit of Service ScholarshipThis competitive, renewable
$2,500 to $5,000 scholarship is available to students with a record of high academic achievement and extensive volunteer service experience with school, church, or community organizations. Recipients are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and must complete 60 hours of community service per semester.
Priority consideration will be given to scholarship applications received by March 1. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.

Clare Boothe Luce Scholarship for Women in Science and MathematicsThis competitive, renewable scholarship provides women majoring in Biology, Mathematics, or Information Technology (Computer Science specialty) with
full tuition and room and board. Applicants should be U.S. citizens with a record of high academic achievement and an interest in teaching or research in math or science.

Honors Program ScholarshipTransfer students admitted to the
Marymount University Honors Program may be eligible for an additional scholarship award. Admission to the program is very competitive. Applicants should have a 3.5 college GPA and a 1200 SAT (CR / M) or 27 ACT composite score.

Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG)Each year, the Commonwealth of Virginia determines a grant amount to be awarded to legal residents of Virginia who attend Marymount full-time. The grant amount for this year is estimated to be
$2,500.
Qualifying students should submit the VTAG application to the Office of Financial Aid by no later than July 31. Later applications will be considered by the Commonwealth on a funds-available basis.VTAG applicationVTAG factsheet
DC Tuition Assistance Grant (DCTAG)
The District of Columbia provides a renewable $2,500 grant to DC residents who attend Marymount full-time. This grant is awarded solely on the basis of DC residency, not on financial need. Qualifying students should submit the DC OneApp and required documents to the District of Columbia government by June 30. Later applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.
Need-Based Grants, Loans, and Other AidStudents with demonstrated financial need may qualify for additional financial aid from Marymount University or from federal, state, or local government sources.
